Using Points To Unlock Achievements And Ranks

The BadgeOS plugin allows users to use their collected points to earn achievements and ranks. If you are using several point types, you can determine which specific point type should be used to unlock the reward. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps you need to follow to create achievements and ranks that can be awarded based on users’ points.

1. Unlock An Achievement With Points

To get started select an achievement type and click on Add New to add a new achievement. Give your new achievement a title, description, and add a featured image. Then follow these configuration instructions:

  • Scroll down to the Achievement Data box and select “Minimum Number Of Points” for the Earned By field. This determines how the achievement is earned.

  • Next, go to the Minimum Points Required field and set the number of points needed to unlock the badge. Select the point type from the drop-down menu.

  • Finally, configure the rest of the Achievement settings according to your preference and publish.

2. Unlock A Rank With Points

To get started select a rank type and click on Add New to add a new individual rank. Give your new rank a title, description, and add a featured image. Then follow these configuration instructions:

  • Scroll down to the Ranks Data box and select the Yes option for “Allow Reach With Points?”.

  • Then set the points required to earn the rank in the Points To Unlock field. Select the point type used from the drop-down menu.

  • Finally, configure the rest of the Rank settings according to your preference and publish.
