Developers Invited to Extend BadgeOS and Contribute to Rapidly Growing BadgeOS Community
The BadgeOS team is pleased to announce the official release of a complete suite of Developer Documentation, APIs and Resources for the open source BadgeOS achievement and engagement management system.
WordPress plugin authors now have the tools they need at their fingertips to easily make their own plugins BadgeOS-compatible and to craft BadgeOS Add-on plugins that enhance the core BadgeOS experience.
BadgeOS is designed as a powerful, underlying operating system for creating achievement recognition and engagement management sites and applications using WordPress. The system was built from the ground up with expandability in mind, allowing virtually any action or activity to trigger, record or recognize achievement.
The system can be extended through BadgeOS “Add-On” plugins, which hook into the core BadgeOS system and allow developers to customize the user experience around achievements, badges, assessment and more. Developers can, for example, expand the BadgeOS “Earned by” menu to include any additional internal or external user activity as a source for determining whether an achievement has been completed.
The BadgeOS team continues to develop a range of powerful Add-ons to enhance core BadgeOS functionality with specialized functions. The availability of BadgeOS Developer Documentation and APIs empowers others to create Add-ons consistent with BadgeOS standards, using official hooks and filters, and to share them with the BadgeOS community at large.
The BadgeOS.org site will soon feature a range of BadgeOS Add-ons and BadgeOS-compatible plugins available for use. Submit your plugin today so it can be featured on the site and receive the widespread attention it deserves. Featured Add-ons will also be included in the “Add-On” menu from within the BadgeOS plugin itself, reaching thousands of users. Submit your Add-on or BadgeOS-compatible plugin now:
