    Sounds familiar…

At one point I was trying to work around a theme’s portfolio feature and I think I wanted to create my own.

    I can’t imagine what treasures you’ll find…

Thank you for sticking with it, Michael… truly appreciate it.

I’m looking into WPStagecoach – a neat tool that allows you to create a staging version of a site – dunno if it’ll work.

But… I need to have a staging site… or at least a home build of the site to experiment.

Because MM uses the prefix MM instead of WP in the database tables, the staging tool for my host doesn’t copy the contents…

So, I can’t use their staging tool. Or I can, but then copy all the contents from live to staging for MM… and then AGAIN… copy all the contents from Staging to Live when I was to push any staging modificaitons back to live…

    So… that’s that part.

I’m not sure how easy it is to copy table content back and fourth between databases… even just for our test…

Just created a new staging area install and no error, but none of the data connected to MemberMouse was copied… no members, or products – as if the MM database itself didn’t copy.

I’ve got a trouble ticket with my host… and sent a note to the team at MM.

    aye aye aye

I feel like this is one of those late 80s home computer games where you have to bribe the barkeep for a tip on where the blacksmith is hiding the key to the trunk where the treasure map is hidden…

    I won’t give up…

I’m going to talk to my hosting company to find out why the staging site didn’t populate correctly. (heaven forbid, had I actually used the staging area to work on something else, I wouldn’t have known I’d be replacing my live site with 100s of hours of missing work).

So… I’m going to try to get the staging site set-up as a true mirror.

Then we should have all the resources (cache in place) to poke around.

NOW it is ready… had to turn of membermouse which was breaking the load…

I think it is okay NOT to run it in staging…

    aw, man… I’m sorry…

re-building a staging version… should just be a few minutes before it is again created…

    fingers-crossed this’ll work…

(sorry I thought I had viewed the staging URL before I sent my last note and it was working fine… not working for me either).

Thanks so much Michael for your support… Most of my comments to you have been in Private Reply because I’ve given you access to my site and stuff…

But, wanted to, in public, let you know I appreciate you working hard to help me out!
